FSC Certification
Phoenix Press prints with FSC-certified papers. What does this mean?
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an international non-profit, multi-stakeholder organization established in 1993 to promote responsible management of the world’s forests. Its main tools for achieving this are standard setting, independent certification and labeling of forest products. This offers customers around the world the ability to choose products from socially and environmentally responsible forestry.
It's a product you can feel good about!
What does the FSC do for paper products?
It helps paper manufacturers avoid source material that comes from:
- Illegally harvested forests;
- Forests in which violation of traditional and civil rights occur;
- Forests in which High Conservation Values are threatened by management activities;
- Natural and semi-natural forests where conversion occurs; and
- Forests in which Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs) are used.
FSC Labels
We offer a wide variety of FSC-certified papers each of which carries it's own unique FSC label. The
FSC 100% Label
Products carrying the 100% FSC label come only from well-managed forests that have met FSC’s high social and environmental standards.
FSC Mixed Sources
Products with a Mixed Sources label support the development of responsible forest management worldwide. The wood comes from FSC-certified well-managed forests, recycled material and/or controlled wood which come from non-controversial sources. Post-industrial recycled paper is a big part of this group.
FSC Recycled
Products with 100% Recycled label support the re-use of forest resources which helps to reduce the pressure on natural forests.
